SPOOKS ON STAGE
There are dozens, if not hundreds, of Halloween-related activities happening in Cornwall this October so we’ve picked out some spooky theatricals that will have you on the edge of your seat…
SHADOW PUPPET SHOW AT TRERAVEN FARM
On the day before Halloween, children are invited to join Reg Payn, Professor of Puppetry, for a workshop in making and using shadow puppets. The following evening, venture into the pine woods at Treraven Farm for a Halloween shadow puppet performance accompanied by spooky songs. Hot food will be available from Wild Bake. Fancy dress and appropriate outdoor clothing required.

WITCH WOOD AT THE BOATHOUSE THEATRE
The Boathouse Theatre in St Ives was originally a Pilchard Cellar. Now converted into a charming little theatre, plays and puppet shows are performed throughout the year. During October half term there will be three special halloween performances of “Witch Wood”.

GHOST STORIES BY HOPEFUL MONSTERS
Two ghostly plays directed by Wadebridge’s Lucy Gordon Clark and written by her father, Lawrence Gordon Clark, will be performed across the county. “Lost Hearts” is a ghost story about a young orphan boy, Stephen, who is sent to stay with his much older cousin, a reclusive alchemist, at a remote country mansion.

HAG AT THE THEATRE ROYAL, PLYMOUTH
Not in Cornwall, but it will be worth popping over the border to see this extraordinary show, featuring superb puppetry, wonderful masks, music and live action. Based on Slavic folklore, Hag tells the story of child-eating hag-witch Baba Yaga, to whom orphaned Lisa is sent by her evil stepsisters.
