The Barefoot team were lucky enough to be invited to a sneak peak of The Old Ale House in Truro, which is officially opening its doors on Saturday 27 September.

Kicking off the evening with a tour of Skinner’s Brewery, we were introduced to the brewing process and the story behind Skinner’s collaborative venture with River Cottage for its River Cottage EPA. After seeing the journey from hops to ale, we were drawn to The Old Ale House in style by two beautiful Shire horses, known as George and Ringo.

We can vouch for the food being very tasty; Barefoot favourites include Apple Slayer Cornish Yarg fondue and the chorizo and fennel sausage roll. Specially designed by the team at River Cottage, the menu is full of dishes using the very best of local produce. It’s available to download, but we must warn you to prepare yourself for some seriously mouth-watering dishes.

Here are a few snaps to whet your appetite.

Opening hours: Mon-Thurs: 11am-11pm, Fri-Sat: 11am-1am, Sun: 12pm-10:30pm
